|1||Head purple cabbage; chopped fine|
|1 small||Peeled onion; quartered|
|4||Whole cloves; up to 6|
|1 large||Apple; quartered|
|1 tablespoon||Sugar; up to 2|
|1 tablespoon||Flour; up to 2|

Combine cabbage, onion, cloves, apple, vinegar, ½ of sugar, and oil in a large pot or dutch oven. Add enough water to cover bottom of pot. Bring to a boil and simmer until tender. Dust w/ flour and remaining sugar before serving.
*note* makes a good amount!!
