Applesauce-bran breakfast cake

Yield: 6 servings

Measure Ingredient
¼ cup Margarine
2 cups Applesauce
1 cup Unbleached all-purpose flour
1½ cup Oat Bran
1 cup Sugar
1 teaspoon Baking soda
1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon Grated nutmeg
¼ teaspoon Ground cloves
1 cup Raisins
1 cup Chopped nuts

Preheat the oven to 350F. Grease the bottom only of a 9" baking pan.

In a large saucepan, heat the margarine and applesauce together over medium heat until the margarine is just melted, then remove from heat. Add the remaining ingredients, stir quickly to moisten, then pour the batter into the baking pan. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
