Apple bars

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 cup Flour
½ teaspoon Salt
½ teaspoon Baking soda
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
cup Uncooked oats
cup Brown sugar
½ cup Butter
1 each Egg
1 teaspoon Vanilla
¼ cup Chopped walnuts
2 cups Thinly sliced pared apples
Powdered sugar

Directions

Sift flour, salt, baking soda and cinnamon. Beat in oats, sugar, butter, egg and vanilla. Press half of dough in bottom of greased 89 inch square baking dish. Sprinkle walnuts over dough. Arrange apple slices over nuts. Roll remaining dough between waxed paper to form 9 inch square. Place dough over filling and press lightly around edges.

Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. When cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar. Cut into bars.
