Measure | Ingredient |

1½ cup | All-purpose flour |
1 teaspoon | Baking soda |
1 teaspoon | Salt |
2½ cup | Uncooked quick-cooking oats |
5½ cup | Sugar |
1 cup | Butter or margarine; melted |
1½ cup | Apple butter |
Combine first 5 ingredients in a large bowl; stir in butter. Press half of mixture into a greased 13- x 9-inch pan; top with apple butter. Sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture, and press gently with back of a spoon.
Bake at 350° for 55 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool and cut into bars. Makes 3 dozen.
Notes : Freeze extras and keep on hand for after-school snacks. Select tart, green-skinned Granny Smiths for cakes and pies.
