|1||Head of cabbage, cut into|
|3||4 slices of fatback|
|1 cup||Virginia smoked ham chunks|
Break up cabbage chunks with your hands. Fry down the meat. Add cabbage and continue to fry for about 10 minutes, stirring often.
Add 1 cup water and salt and pepper to taste. Bring to a boil, cover and steam for about 20 minutes on medium heat. 35 minutes if you prefer it grayer.
