Vanilla cordial

Yield: 1 Servings

Measure Ingredient
3 cups Water
2 cups Firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup Granulated sugar
1 Vanilla bean; split lengthwise or 1/4 cup REAL vanilla extract
1 quart Light rum

In a saucepan, combine water and the sugars and vanilla bean. Bring to a boil. Boil 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and let cool.

Add rum I vanilla extract (if used). Pour into 2 quart bottles with tight fitting covers. Let stand 2 weeks, shaking occasionally. Remove vanilla bean, if used before serving.

Makes 7 cups liquid.
