Toffee almond treats

Yield: 48 servings

Measure Ingredient
1 cup All purpose flour
1 cup Oatmeal
1 cup Packed brown sugar
½ cup Corn Syrup
⅓ cup Packed brown sugar
¼ cup Butter
¼ cup Whipping cream or
1 teaspoon Baking soda
½ cup Butter
\N \N Evaporated milk
1½ cup Sliced almonds
1½ teaspoon Vanilla

CRUST

TOPPING

CRUST: Combine all ingredients, mixing until crumbly. Press firmly into 13x9x2-inch baking pan. Bake in 350 F oven 10 minutes. TOPPING: Combine corn syrup, brown sugar, butter and cream or evaporated milk in medium saucepan. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture boils. Remove from heat. Stir in almonds and vanilla. Pour over crust, spreading evenly. Bake in 350 F oven 15 - 20 min or until golden. Cool on wire rack. Cut into triangles, bars or squares. Store in refrigerator.
