5 pounds | Ground beef |
3 eaches | Taco seasoning, or more, to taste |
5 eaches | Heads of lettuce, torn into small pieces |
3 bunches | Green onions, chopped |
1 large | Cucumber, chopped |
2 cups | Chopped celery |
10 eaches | Tomatoes, cut into wedges |
\N \N | 2-3 lbs cheddar cheese, grated |
2 cups | French dressing or taco sauce |
30 ounces | Taco chips, crushed |
Brown ground beef and drain off fat. Add taco seasoning and mix well. Set aside to completely cool. In large bowl, mix the lettuce with the onions, cucumber, celery and tomato. When beef is completely cooled, add to salad mixture and toss to mix well.
Sprinkle cheese over top, and chill. Just prior to serving, sprinkle the taco chips over the top, and add salad dressing. Mix well and serve immediately. Origin: Homestyle Canadian Classics, Ladies of the Royal Purple. Shared by: Sharon Stevens, July/95.
