Taco salad for a crowd

Ingredients

3eachesTaco seasoning, or more, to taste
5eachesHeads of lettuce, torn into small pieces
3bunchesGreen onions, chopped
1largeCucumber, chopped
2cupsChopped celery
10eachesTomatoes, cut into wedges
2-3 lbs cheddar cheese, grated
2cupsFrench dressing or taco sauce
30ouncesTaco chips, crushed

Directions

Brown ground beef and drain off fat. Add taco seasoning and mix well. Set aside to completely cool. In large bowl, mix the lettuce with the onions, cucumber, celery and tomato. When beef is completely cooled, add to salad mixture and toss to mix well.

Sprinkle cheese over top, and chill. Just prior to serving, sprinkle the taco chips over the top, and add salad dressing. Mix well and serve immediately. Origin: Homestyle Canadian Classics, Ladies of the Royal Purple. Shared by: Sharon Stevens, July/95.
