Taco salad #7

4 Servings

Quantity Ingredient
1 pounds Hamburger or ground turkey
1 pack Taco seasoning OR chili powder; garlic powder, onion powder; salt and pepper to taste
1 can (16-oz) chili hot beans
Lettuce
Tomato (only if in season)
Your choice of any or all of the following: carrots; broccoli; cauliflower, onion (up to)
8 ounces Shredded cheddar cheese
Tortilla chips (preferrably taco or nacho cheese flavored)
Poppy seed salad dressing

From: Julie Sterchi <sterchi@...> Date: Sat, 3 Aug 1996 12:50:36 -0700 Brown the meat and drain. Add spices or prepare according to taco seasoning package directions. Add chili beans and heat through. Cool slightly. Tear up lettuce in a very large bowl and add rest of veggies. I usually assemble the rest right before serving. Add meat/beans and cheese.

Toss. Pour on poppy seed dressing (using this makes a big difference in taste). Add crushed tortilla chips last. Serve.
