Swiss pot roast

Ingredients

| 4 | pounds | (about) beef pot roast |
| 3 | tablespoons | Shortening |
| 2 | cloves | Garlic; finely minced |
| ⅓ | cup | Bell pepper; chopped |
| ½ | cup | Onion; chopped |
| 1 | small | Can chopped mushrooms; with liquid |
| 10½ | can | Tomato soup |
Directions
Combine flour, salt, and pepper; coat both sides of roast. Brown in hot shortening in Dutch oven. Add remaining ingredients. Cover; simmer over low heat 2 hours or until tender.
