Sunset granita

Yield: 4 Servings

Measure Ingredient
½ cup Water
¼ cup Sugar
1 tablespoon Lemon juice
1½ cup Chopped ripe mango or papaya
2 tablespoons Orange liqueur
\N 4 (1/2 cup) servings.

In a saucepan, stir together water and sugar. Simmer over medium heat for about 5 minutes until the sugar has completely dissolved. Let syrup cool and place in blender. Add lemon juice, fruit and liqueur and blend mixture until it is smooth. Place in a metal dish, cover and freeze for at least 3 hours, stirring the outer frozen mixture into the center every half hour, until firm but not solidly frozen.
