Strawberries w/champagne sauce

Ingredients

QuantityIngredient
2Egg yolks
½cupSugar
2teaspoonsCornstarch
1cupMilk
1teaspoonVanilla
½cupWhipping cream; stiffly beaten
¼cupChampagne
1quartStrawberries; washed and thoroughly drained

Directions

Combine yolks, sugar and cornstarch. Add milk slowly, stirring constantly.

Cook over medium heat until sauce coats a wooden spoon. Refrigerate until cool. Add vanilla, then fold in whipping cream. Gently fold in champagne, then serve over strawberries.
