Spiced pecan french toast

Measure Ingredient
5 \N Eggs
1½ cup Half and half
½ cup Toasted ground pecans
⅛ cup Sugar
½ teaspoon Vanilla extract
2 teaspoons Cinnamon
½ teaspoon Nutmeg
½ teaspoon Ground ginger
½ teaspoon Allspice

12 slices French bread; ( if bread is small

6 tablespoons Unsalted butter
\N \N Maple syrup

In a large bowl combine eggs, half and half, pecans, and sugar and mix well. Add vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, allspice, and orange zest and mix well. Add bread and soak for about 10 minutes. Heat a large saute pan with about 2 tablespoons of butter and place about ⅓ of the slices in the pan and cook each side about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown. Keep the french toast in a warm oven while you finish cooking the rest of the toast.

Serve warm with maple syrup and butter.
