Slow cooker chicken

Ingredients

1Whole chicken, skinned (unless you want all that fat), about seven pounds (or bigger or smaller depending on the size of your slow cooker, adjust other ingredients accordingly)
1cupWater
1mediumOnion, chopped
1tablespoonSalt
1tablespoonPepper
7ouncesChopped canned mushrooms (fresh would be better)
1teaspoonSoy sauce
¼cupRed cooking wine
1tablespoonGarlic powder

Directions

Put the whole works into a slow cooker, making sure to put some of the mushrooms and onions into the cavity of the bird. Cook for about 5 hours on medium heat.
