Here is my favorite recipe for M&M cookies. I got the basic cookie recipe out of a children's cookbook that I got 25-30 years ago. It was called something like "The Secret of Cookies, Candies, and Cakes". Anyway, here's my M&M cookies:
Sift flour and baking powder and salt. Cream shortening; add sugar gradually and continue beating until light. Add well-beaten eggs and blend thoroughly; add vanilla. Add dry ingredients alternately with the milk; mix well. Add M&M's. Chill.
Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 or 3 inches apart on a well-greased baking sheet. Bake at 400 for 8 to 10 minutes. Makes about 5 dozen cookies.
This is really fun to do at Christmas using the red & green M&M's. Posted to bakery-shoppe digest V1 Number 034 by Sandra Swinford <sswinfor@...> on Apr 17, 1997
