THE CHEESE GARNISH. Try cheese-stuffed celery, prunes, dates, apricots; squares of cream or blue cheese; cheese apples (to cheese balls, add clove stem; color with paprika); cheese cutouts (made with cookie cutter from sliced cheese). THE GAY TOUCH. Try chopped or slivered nuts; pomegranate seeds or halved cranberries; grated orange, lemon, or lime rind; snipped mint; cubes of cranberry jelly; sprinkling of raisins, coconut, nutmeg, or cinnamon; cut-up candied fruit. THE FRUIT GARNISH. Try prunes or dates, plain or stuffed; few berries or cherries, with stems; kumquats, as is or sliced; lime, lemon, or orange wedges; rhubarb curls; figs; crab apples; pickled peaches. THE VEGETABLE GARNISH. Try pickled whole or sliced beets; pepper rings; onion rings or pickled pearl onions; asparagus tips; pimento strips; cut-up spinach; sprinkling of capers; tomato wedges.
