Yield: 1 servings
|1 can||Tomato paste; (just about any brand will do for most of these ingredients)|
|1 can||Kidney beans|
|2 cans||Black beans|
|1 can||Stewed tomatoes|
|1 cup||TVP; (Green Giant "ground b**f" works well)|
|Chili powder to taste|
This is a great recipe to put together when you're in a pinch. You can make it for any number of people (even the carnivores!) and the ingredients are very easy to find. I've been making it since I became a vegetarian 4 years ago (I'm 18 now), so its simple enough for younger people to make, too.
Rinse the beans thoroughly to cut down on the sodium content. Combine all ingredients into a large pot, and since they're all pre-cooked, all you need to do is warm them up.
I usually serve this over a couple of hearty slices of wheat bread, but brown rice would also be tasty. If you're eating this on a cold day, a nice cup of green tea also warms you up! vegan
