Simple chili

Ingredients

3poundsCoarse ground chili meat
1tablespoonOnion salt
2tablespoonsGarlic powder
3tablespoonsChili powder
2tablespoonsGround Cumin
3tablespoonsTabasco sauce
15ouncesCan Tomato Sauce
15ouncesCan Whole Tomatoes
7ouncesCan Tomato Paste
15ouncesWater
OPTIONAL - -
½tablespoonCornstarch, for thickening

Directions

Brown chili meat, then pour off fat/grease. Run hot water over meat to remove additional grease. (Using a strainer, collander or sieve helps)

Add remaining ingredients. Bring to boil, stirring. Reduce to low heat and simmer 2 hours covered. Chop whole tomatoes as they cook.

Add the cornstarch during the last ½ hour to thicken the liquid if needed.

Serve with saltine crackers.
