Pork chops italiano

Yield: 4 servings

Measure Ingredient
4 \N Pork loin chops; 1\" thick
\N \N Salt; to taste
\N \N Pepper; to taste
1 tablespoon Oil, vegetable
½ pounds Mushrooms, fresh; sliced
1 medium Onion; chopped
1 small Garlic clove; crushed
2 mediums Green peppers; cut into thin strips
16 ounces Tomato sauce
¼ teaspoon Oregano, whole; or basil
1 tablespoon Lemon juice
¼ cup Sherry, dry

Sprinkle pork chops with salt and pepper; brown on both sides in hot oil. Place chops in a shallow 2-quart baking dish; cover with mushrooms, and set aside.

Add onion, garlic, and green pepper to skillet; cook until tender. Add remaining ingredients, and simmer 5 minutes; pour over chops. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until chops are done.
