1 tablespoon | Oil, vegetable |
½ pounds | Mushrooms, fresh; sliced |
1 medium | Onion; chopped |
1 small | Garlic clove; crushed |
2 mediums | Green peppers; cut into thin strips |
16 ounces | Tomato sauce |
¼ teaspoon | Oregano, whole; or basil |
1 tablespoon | Lemon juice |
¼ cup | Sherry, dry |
Sprinkle pork chops with salt and pepper; brown on both sides in hot oil. Place chops in a shallow 2-quart baking dish; cover with mushrooms, and set aside.
Add onion, garlic, and green pepper to skillet; cook until tender. Add remaining ingredients, and simmer 5 minutes; pour over chops. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until chops are done.
