|1 quart||Tomato puree *|
|3||Garlic cloves, sliced|
|2||Sweet basil sprigs|
|½ cup||Olive oil|
~* May be canned or home-canned ; amount is approximate.
Heat saucepan. Add oil, basil and garlic and cook only until garlic is softened. Add puree and a little salt. Cook for 20 minutes or until creamy. May be made ahead of time and frozen in recipe-size batches.
