Oscar's broccoli soup (with meat)

Ingredients

4slicesSmoked bacon; diced
8ouncesRib-eye steak; ground
1cupCooked mashed rutabagas
1cupMashed potatoes
1cupCooked white rice
1poundsBroccoli; diced and blanched
1cupDiced celery
1cupDiced green bell pepper
1cupDiced onion
2Cloves garlic; minced
1quartSkim milk
½cupButter
1cupHalf-and-half
1cupCrumbled cheese crackers
½cupChopped parsley
1teaspoonWorcestershire sauce
1teaspoonHot sauce
1teaspoonKetchup

Directions

In a heavy soup kettle or Dutch oven, fry the bacon and reserve the grease.

In the bacon grease, brown the steak, then add all the other ingredients.

Simmer for 20-25 minutes. Sherry may be added prior to serving if desired.
