Oatmeal caramelitos

Ingredients

| 32 | Caramels | |
| 5 | tablespoons | Light cream |
| 1 | cup | Flour |
| 1 | cup | Oatmeal |
| ¾ | cup | Brown sugar |
| ½ | teaspoon | Salt |
| ½ | teaspoon | Baking soda |
| ½ | cup | Nuts |
| ¾ | cup | Butter, melted |
| 1 | cup | Chocolate chips |
Directions
Melt caramels in cream in top of a double boiler. Cool slightly.
Combine all ingredients except chocolate chips and nuts. Press ½ of crumbs in the bottom of a 9 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Remove from oven; sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts.
Spread carefully with caramel mixture. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. Chill 1 to 2 hours. Cut into bars. Randy Rigg Submitted By RANDY RIGG On 05-07-95
