½ teaspoon | Baking soda |

¼ teaspoon | Nutmeg |
½ cup | Sugar |
½ cup | Light brown sugar; packed |
½ cup | Butter or margarine; softened |
1 \N | Egg |
½ teaspoon | Vanilla extract |
1½ cup | Quick-cooking oats |
¼ cup | Chopped walnuts |
In large bowl mix flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add sugars, butter, egg and vanilla. Beat until smooth. Stir in oats and walnuts. Shape in two 1-½ inch diameter rolls. Wrap in waxed paper; chill thoroughly at least 3 hours. Slice ¼ inch thick. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Immediately remove to racks to cool.
