Mushroom sauce (usda)

Yield: 6 Servings

Measure Ingredient
3 tablespoons Butter or margarine
½ cup Canned mushrooms -- sliced
3 tablespoons Flour
¼ teaspoon Salt
1½ cup Milk

Melt butter. Brown mushrooms lightly in melted butter. Stir in flour and salt. Add milk slowly. Cook until thickened, stirring constantly.

NOTES : This recipe is for 6 servings (about ¼ cup each) to accompany Ham Turnovers or Meatballs, two freeze-ahead meals. The sauce is made at the time of serving. You will want to have the ingredients on hand when you are ready to use the frozen food.
