Mom's chopped herring

Measure Ingredient
2 \N Schmaltz herrings -- filet
\N \N And skin
1 \N Apple -- peeled
1 medium Onion
1 tablespoon Graham cracker crumbs
2 \N Eggs, hard-boiled
½ cup Vinegar

Grate onion and apple on large holes of grater. Add herring, crumbs and whites of egg. Place in chopping bowl and chop fine. Mash egg yolks with vinegar and add to herring. Mixture will be wet.
