Mediteranean style burgers

Yield: 8 burgers

Measure Ingredient
2 pounds Lean ground beef
10 ounces Spinach, frozen chopped- thawed and drained well
2 cloves Garlic; finely chopped
¼ cup Grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup Prepared spaghetti sauce
½ cup Packaged Italian-seasoned bread crumbs

Preheat the broiler or prepare the grill so the coals are hot.

Combine the beef, spinach, garlic, Parmesan cheese, spaghetti sauce and bread crumbs in a large bowl until well mixed. Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions, and shape into 8 burger patties.

Broil or grill the burgers 4 inches from heat for 6 minutes on each side or until cooked through.

Makes 8 burgers at 78 cents each. Prep: 15 minutes Broil or grill: 12 minutes.

Per burger: 333 calories, 30 g protein, 19 g fat, 10 g carbohydrate, 510 mg sodium, 90 mg cholesterol.
