|2||Cloves garlic; pressed|
|1 cup||Salad oil|
|1½ cup||Wine vinegar|
|Salt & pepper to taste|
|6||Bunches leaf lettuce; washed & torn into bite size pieces|
|1||Purple onion; sliced|
|3||Tomatoes; cut into quarters|
Put first 4 ingredients into large wooden salad bowl and beat with a wire whisk. Combine dressing with lettuce and onions. Serve on chilled plates, garnished with tomato quarters. LE MONT
