Jim's squid pasta sauce

Ingredients

¼cupOlive oil
tablespoonBasil
tablespoonOregano
1eachBay leaf, crushed
2eachesCloves Garlic, minced
1smallOnion. chopped
1smallBell pepper, chopped
1smallPortugal hot pepper, chopped (optional)
1quartTomatoes, with juice, chopped
2cupsSquid or octopus cut into bite size pieces
¼cupChianti wine

Directions

In a large saucepan add olive oil, basil, oregano, bay leaf, garlic, and onion. Brown and add tomatoes with juice and peppers and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and add squid or octopus and simmer for 20 minutes. In last 3 minutes add wine. Serve over hot drained pasta with grated mix of parmesan and romano cheese Note: I use our home grown and dried spices. The tomatoes are also home grown and canned.
