Measure | Ingredient |

1 cup | Butter |
2 cups | Sugar |
4 \N | Eggs |
3 cups | Flour |
1 cup | Blackberry jam |
1 teaspoon | (scant) soda |
1 teaspoon | Cinnamon |
1 teaspoon | Cloves |
1 cup | Fresh buttermilk |
1 can | Crushed pineapple |
1½ cup | Sugar (use less if the pineapple syrup is heavy) |
1 tablespoon | Butter |
1 tablespoon | Flour |
FILLING
Cream butter and sugar together; add eggs. Combine soda, spices and flour.
Alternate flour mixture and buttermilk in egg mixture. Add jam. Bake in 3 pans at 350 degrees.
To make filling: Mix all ingredients and boil until thickened. Spread on cake.
