Ingredients

1cupBlackberry jam
1teaspoon(scant) soda
1teaspoonCinnamon
1teaspoonCloves
1cupFresh buttermilk
1canCrushed pineapple
cupSugar (use less if the pineapple syrup is heavy)
1tablespoonButter
1tablespoonFlour

Directions

FILLING

Cream butter and sugar together; add eggs. Combine soda, spices and flour.

Alternate flour mixture and buttermilk in egg mixture. Add jam. Bake in 3 pans at 350 degrees.

To make filling: Mix all ingredients and boil until thickened. Spread on cake.
