Yield: 4 Servings
|½ pounds||Italian sausage|
|½ cup||Chopped green pepper|
|1 medium||Chopped onion|
|1 can||Drained tomatoes; (16 oz.)|
|½||Loaf Italian bread|
|Grated Parmesan cheese|
Remove casing from sausage. Brown sausage in large skillet for 10 minutes, breaking it up with wooden spoon. Stir in ½ cup chopped green pepper and chopped onion. Cook another 5 minutes. Add tomatoes and cook 15 minutes.
Slice Italian bread. Place half the slices in bottom of a buttered 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish. Spread with sausage mixture. Top with remaining bread.
Beat eggs; stir in milk and salt. Pour over bread and sausage; sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake 1 hour in 325 degrees oven. Serves 4.
