¼ cup | Sugar |
1 \N | Egg, unbeaten |
1½ teaspoon | Salt |
½ cup | Shortening |
¼ cup | Molasses |
1½ cup | Sour or butter milk |
1½ cup | Chopped currants |
1½ cup | Raisins, chopped |
¼ cup | Chopped citron or candied lemon peel |
Preheat oven to 325F. Sift together flour, salt and soda. Cream together the shortening, sugar and molasses. Beat in the egg.
