1 cup | Sugar |

4 \N | Sticks (1-inch) cinnamon |
½ teaspoon | Powdered ginger |
1 \N | Orange; rind of |
1 \N | Lemon; rind of |
2 cups | Strained orange juice |
1 cup | Strained lemon juice |
1 \N | Bottle (750-ml) Burgundy or Claret wine |
In a saucepan combine water, sugar, spices and citrus rinds. Bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve sugar. Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, remove from heat and let stand for 1 hour. Strain and add fruit juices and wine. Yield: 12 to 16 servings.
