Hot spiced wine #1

Yield: 12 Servings

Measure Ingredient
4 cups Water
1 cup Sugar
12 \N Whole cloves
6 \N Whole allspice
4 \N Sticks (1-inch) cinnamon
½ teaspoon Powdered ginger
1 \N Orange; rind of
1 \N Lemon; rind of
2 cups Strained orange juice
1 cup Strained lemon juice
1 \N Bottle (750-ml) Burgundy or Claret wine

In a saucepan combine water, sugar, spices and citrus rinds. Bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve sugar. Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, remove from heat and let stand for 1 hour. Strain and add fruit juices and wine. Yield: 12 to 16 servings.
