Yield: 1 cup
|4||Ripe plum tomatoes, seeded|
|2 cups||Romaine lettuce, finely shredded and packed tightly|
|3 tablespoons||Finely diced red onion|
|¼ cup||Sour cream|
|2 tablespoons||Prepared horseradish|
This slaw is best served on top of grilled steak or chicken sandwiches, or on a burger, for that matter.
Dice the tomatoes and put them in a medium-sized bowl with the lettuce and onion.
In a separate small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream, horseradish and salt. Add enough mayonnaise mixture as needed to moisten the lettuce, tomatoes and onions in the other bowl. Stir well.
