Golden state chutney

Ingredients

2cupsChopped Calif. dried figs
1Apple; peeled & diced
1Lemon; sliced paper-thin
½cupBrown sugar
½cupMolasses
½cupVinegar
½teaspoonGround cloves
½teaspoonGround ginger
½teaspoonGround cinnamon

Directions

In large sauce pan, combine dried figs and apple. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil; simmer, uncovered 30 minutes. Makes about 4 cups. Serve as an accompaniment to pork, lamb, or chicken.
