Frosted applesauce

Measure Ingredient
1 pack (3 oz.) lemon flavor gelatin
1½ cup Hot applesauce
¾ cup Pineapple juice
¼ cup Sugar
1 tablespoon L;emon juice
⅛ teaspoon Salt
⅛ teaspoon Nutmeg
⅛ teaspoon Cinnamon
1 \N Egg white; stiffly beaten
½ \N Crushed pineapple; drained

Dissolve gelatin in hot applesauce. Add pineapple juice, sugar,lemon juice, salt,and spices. Fold in egg white and pineapple. Spoon into sherbet dishes and refrigerate until set. Makes 8 servings. Thie recipe came from an older lady in Portland, Oregon in 1955, hence the vernacular.
