Yield: 1 Servings

Measure Ingredient
¾ cup Sifted all-purpose flour
¼ teaspoon Baking soda
¼ teaspoon Salt
½ cup Sugar
⅓ cup Vegetable shortening
2 tablespoons Water

1 teaspoon Vanilla
2 \N Eggs
1½ cup Chopped nuts (optional)

Sift the flour, baking soda and salt together and set aside. Combine sugar, shortening, and water in a medium saucepan. Heat and stirring constantly, until sugar melts and mixture comes to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in chocolate pieces and vanilla until smooth. Beat in eggs, one at a time.

Stir in flour mixture and nuts. Spread evenly into a greased 9X9X2 inch pan. Bake in at 325 degrees for approximately 30 minutes or until shiny and firm on top. Remove from oven and sprinkle with amaretto (approximately 3 tablespoons) making sure to cover the top of brownies evenly. Cool completely.
