Deluxe waffles

Yield: 4 Servings

Measure Ingredient
1 cup Sifted all-purpose flour
1½ teaspoon Baking powder
½ teaspoon Salt
1 tablespoon Sugar
2 Egg yolks
2 tablespoons Butter; melted
1 cup Heavy cream
2 Egg whites; stiffly beaten

Heat waffle iron. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt & sugar. Beat egg yolks in medium-sized bowl. Add sifted dry ingredients, melted butter & cream. Stir until blended. Fold in beated egg whites. Pour into heated waffle iron. Close & bake until steaming stops, about 4-6 minutes. Makes seven 4-½ inch waffles.
