Date nut bread #2

Yield: 10 Servings

Measure Ingredient
¾ cup Sugar
1 cup Chopped dates
2 tablespoons Butter
2¼ cup Flour
1 teaspoon Baking powder
1 teaspoon Baking soda
1 teaspoon Salt
1 Egg; beaten
1 cup Chopped nuts

Place sugar, dates and butter in bowl and pour in one cup boiling water.

Allow to cool. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.

Add to date mixture. Then add egg and chopped nuts. Pour into greased loaf pan and bake 1 hour and 15 minutes.
