Date nut bread #1

Yield: 8 Servings

Measure Ingredient
1 pounds Dates; chopped
2 cups Boiling water
1 Stick margarine
2 cups Sugar
2 Eggs
1 teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1 tablespoon Baking soda
4 cups Flour
½ cup Nuts

Pour water over dates & cool. Mix margarine & sugar; beat in eggs, salt & vanilla. When dates are cool, add to sugar mixture. Then add baking soda, flour & nuts. Pour batter into clean vegetable or soup cans which have been greased well. Fill ½ to ⅔ full. Bake for 45 minutes at 375. When cool, shake from cans & wrap with foil.
