Chocolate-almond pie

Measure Ingredient
1 cup Flour
¾ cup Sugar
1 teaspoon Baking powder
½ teaspoon Salt
⅓ cup Melted butter
½ cup Milk
½ teaspoon Almond extract
2 \N Eggs
1 \N Unbaked pie shell in glass
\N \N Pie pan
\N \N Sauce:
2 \N Squares unsweetened
\N \N Chocolate -- ( 1 ounce)
¾ cup Boiling water
1 cup Sugar
⅓ cup Butter
½ cup Chopped almonds
\N \N Chocolate shavings for
\N \N Garnish
\N \N Whipped cream for garnish
\N \N Date: 09/26/96

Preheat oven to 350. Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Combine butter, milk, and extract. Add dry ingredients to wet and beat 2 minutes. Add eggs and beat 2 minutes longer. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Melt chocolate in boiling water. Add sugar and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add butter and vanilla. Pour sauce over pie batter. Sprinkle nuts over the top. Bake 55-60 minutes or until done. Garnish with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.
