Chocolate chip pumpkin loaves

Yield: 15 Servings

Measure Ingredient
⅔ cup Shortening
2⅔ cup Sugar
4 Eggs
2 cups Pumpkin
⅔ cup Water
3⅓ cup Flour
½ teaspoon Baking powder
2 teaspoons Baking soda
1½ teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Nutmeg
1 cup Nuts; chopped
1½ cup Semisweet chocolate chips

Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, pumpkin, and water. Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and nutmeg. Add to pumpkin mixture. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips. Pour into 2 greased 9 x 5 loaf pans and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Makes 2 loaves Recipe by: THoward 106
