Chile con queso bread

Yield: 12 Servings

Measure Ingredient
1 Loaf French bread
¼ cup Chopped green chile
4 tablespoons Mayonnaise
½ teaspoon Onion salt
½ teaspoon Garlic salt
⅔ cup Grated Cheddar or Longhorn cheese

These recipes were sent to me by a friend in Albuquerque.

MIX chile, mayonnaise, salts, and cheese. SLICE bread into 12 slices; cut each slice in half. BAKE sliced bread on 2 cookie sheets at 425 degrees for 4 minutes or until lightly browned. REMOVE cookie sheets from oven, turn bread untoasted side up; spread 1-2 tablespoons cheese mixture on untoasted side of each slice. BROIL 3 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly. SERVE immediately. MAKES 24 pieces.
