Cherry hazelnut balls

Ingredients

| 1 | cup | Butter or margarine softened |
| 1 | cup | Confectioners sugar |
| 2 | cups | Sifted all-purpose flour |
| ¼ | teaspoon | Salt |
| ½ | cup | Finely chopped hazelnuts roasted Oregon hazelnuts) |
| 8 | ounces | Red maraschino cherries drained & chopped |
| ½ | teaspoon | Vanilla |
Directions
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add flour and salt; blend thoroughly. Stir in hazelnuts, cherries and vanilla; chill.
Shape into small balls and place on ungreased baking sheets. Bake in a 275 oven for 30 minutes, or until cookies are lightly browned.
