|1 cup||Butter or margarine softened|
|1 cup||Confectioners sugar|
|2 cups||Sifted all-purpose flour|
|½ cup||Finely chopped hazelnuts roasted Oregon hazelnuts)|
|8 ounces||Red maraschino cherries drained & chopped|
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add flour and salt; blend thoroughly. Stir in hazelnuts, cherries and vanilla; chill.
Shape into small balls and place on ungreased baking sheets. Bake in a 275 oven for 30 minutes, or until cookies are lightly browned.
