½ | cup | Freshly grated parmesan |
Rectangular loaf of day- cheese (about 2 ozs) old sourdough bread paprika; for sprinkling |
Directions
1. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Trim the crust from the bread.
Slice the loaf crosswise into ½-inch strips.
2. On a large baking sheet, toss the bread strips with the melted butter. Spread the strips in a single layer and bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown. 3. Spread the cheese on a large, flat plate. Roll the hot bread strips in the cheese until lightly coated. Sprinkle lightly with the paprika. Serve the warm swizzles in a basket lined with a cloth napkin.
