Bread pudding - city tavern

| 12 | Eggs | |
| 1 | quart | Milk |
| 1½ | cup | Sugar |
| ⅛ | teaspoon | Egg shade (optional) |
| 1½ | teaspoon | Vanilla |
| 1½ | ounce | Dark rum, 1-1/2 shots, approximately |
| ¼ | cup | Dark brown sugar |
| 4 | tablespoons | Butter |
| 2 | pounds | Day old bread; cubed |
Directions
Mix eggs, milk, sugar and flavorings in a large bowl. Grease casserole dish. Place bread cubes in casserole dish. Pour liguid mixture over bread cubes. Top with butter and brown sugar. Cover with aluminum foil and bake in a water bath at 300 degrees until pudding sets ( approx. 40 minutes ) (Courtesy of City Tavern)
