Bread pudding - city tavern

Measure Ingredient
1½ quart To 3 quart Casserole dish
12 Eggs
1 quart Milk
1½ cup Sugar
⅛ teaspoon Egg shade (optional)
1½ teaspoon Vanilla
1½ ounce Dark rum, 1-1/2 shots, approximately
¼ cup Dark brown sugar
4 tablespoons Butter
2 pounds Day old bread; cubed

Mix eggs, milk, sugar and flavorings in a large bowl. Grease casserole dish. Place bread cubes in casserole dish. Pour liguid mixture over bread cubes. Top with butter and brown sugar. Cover with aluminum foil and bake in a water bath at 300 degrees until pudding sets ( approx. 40 minutes ) (Courtesy of City Tavern)
