Bread pudding - city tavern

12Eggs
1quartMilk
cupSugar
teaspoonEgg shade (optional)
teaspoonVanilla
ounceDark rum, 1-1/2 shots, approximately
¼cupDark brown sugar
4tablespoonsButter
2poundsDay old bread; cubed

Directions

Mix eggs, milk, sugar and flavorings in a large bowl. Grease casserole dish. Place bread cubes in casserole dish. Pour liguid mixture over bread cubes. Top with butter and brown sugar. Cover with aluminum foil and bake in a water bath at 300 degrees until pudding sets ( approx. 40 minutes ) (Courtesy of City Tavern)
