Yield: 1 Servings
|¼ cup||All-purpose flour|
|¼ cup||Firmly packed brown sugar|
|3 tablespoons||Coarsely chopped macadamias; walnuts, or pecans|
|⅛ teaspoon||Ground cinnamon|
|2½ tablespoon||Butter or margarine; cut into small pieces|
|7 cups||Peeled & thinly sliced cooking apple|
|2 tablespoons||Apricot preserves|
Combine first 5 ingredients in a bowl. Cut in margarine with a pastry blender until mixture is crumbly. Place thinly sliced apple in a lightly greased 8-inch square baking dish; drop apricot preserves by teaspoonfuls onto apple slices, and sprinkle evenly with flour mixture. Bake at 375° for 35 minutes or until golden.
Makes 6 servings. Kitchen Express: Substitute 2 (12-ounce) packages frozen scalloped apples, thawed, for fresh apples.
Notes: Select tart, green-skinned Granny Smiths for cakes and pies.
