Yield: 1 Servings
Measure | Ingredient |
---|---|
¼ cup | All-purpose flour |
¼ cup | Sugar |
¼ cup | Firmly packed brown sugar |
3 tablespoons | Coarsely chopped macadamias; walnuts, or pecans |
⅛ teaspoon | Ground cinnamon |
2½ tablespoon | Butter or margarine; cut into small pieces |
7 cups | Peeled & thinly sliced cooking apple |
2 tablespoons | Apricot preserves |
Combine first 5 ingredients in a bowl. Cut in margarine with a pastry blender until mixture is crumbly. Place thinly sliced apple in a lightly greased 8-inch square baking dish; drop apricot preserves by teaspoonfuls onto apple slices, and sprinkle evenly with flour mixture. Bake at 375° for 35 minutes or until golden.
Makes 6 servings. Kitchen Express: Substitute 2 (12-ounce) packages frozen scalloped apples, thawed, for fresh apples.
Notes: Select tart, green-skinned Granny Smiths for cakes and pies.
