Anne l. wickham's baked asparagus

Yield: 4 servings

Measure Ingredient
1 pounds Asparagus, Fresh, Washed, Tough Ends Removed
\N \N Salt, to taste
\N \N Pepper, Freshly Ground to taste
2 teaspoons (To 3) Butter -- softened
3 tablespoons Parmesan Cheese, Freshly grated, optional

*Preheat oven to 400 F.

1. Place the aspargus in a baking dish that just fits it. Add salt and pepper and dot with butter. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, if desired.

Cover dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake until tender, about 20 mins.

2. If you have used the Parmesan cheese, remove the foil and brown briefly under broiler.
