2 pounds | Asparagus; (only the tender portions) |
2 tablespoons | Sliced onion |
3 tablespoons | Oil |
3 tablespoons | Soy sauce |
1¼ teaspoon | Sugar |
2 tablespoons | Sherry |
1 pack | Powdered beef broth; (i.e. MBT or Herb Ox) |
½ teaspoon | Cornstarch mixed; mixed with: |
3 tablespoons | Water |
Wash asparagus and cut diagonally about 2 inches long and ¼ inch thick.
Heat oil, brown onion a little; add asparagus cooking over a high heat until its color turns bright green. Mix soy sauce, sugar, powdered beef broth and sherry together; add to asparagus, and thicken with cornstarch mixture.
