Sauted asparagus

Yield: 8 Servings

Measure Ingredient
2 pounds Asparagus; (only the tender portions)
2 tablespoons Sliced onion
3 tablespoons Oil
3 tablespoons Soy sauce
1¼ teaspoon Sugar
2 tablespoons Sherry
1 pack Powdered beef broth; (i.e. MBT or Herb Ox)
½ teaspoon Cornstarch mixed; mixed with:
3 tablespoons Water

Wash asparagus and cut diagonally about 2 inches long and ¼ inch thick.

Heat oil, brown onion a little; add asparagus cooking over a high heat until its color turns bright green. Mix soy sauce, sugar, powdered beef broth and sherry together; add to asparagus, and thicken with cornstarch mixture. This same recipe can be used substituting broccoli, mushrooms or string beans for the asparagus. Enjoy :) Posted in KitMail by "Myrl H. Burkett" <mburkett@...>.
