Yankee apple cake

Yield: 12 Servings

Measure Ingredient
2 cups Sugar
2 cups Flour
4 \N Eggs
3 teaspoons Baking powder
½ cup Oil
3 teaspoons Vanilla
⅓ cup Orange juice
¼ teaspoon Salt
4 larges Apples, peeled -- cored and
\N \N Sliced
4 teaspoons Sugar
1 teaspoon Cinnamon


Beat everything but Apple Mixture with mixer for 10 minutes. Grease 2 loaf pans or 1 tube pan and make several layers of batter and apples, beginning with batter and ending with apples. Bake at 350^ for 1 hour or until tester is dry when inserted in center. A tube pan will take 10-15 minutes longer. (If glass pans are used, turn oven to 325^ after first 10 minutes)
